Week 3 - Raiders Gambling on Vegas

For the second time in just about a week, an NFL team is making a move outside of their city. This time, it's the team that is going into my hometown of Las Vegas.

The Raiders have just recently announced that they have filed for relocation to Sin City regarding the fact that there is some kind of commercial promotion that is making them want to go there. Unlike the Chargers, who stayed in San Diego until this year, the Raiders have been all over the map in the West Coast. An example of that is when the team relocated to LA and played there from 1982 to 1994 before moving back to Oakland.

The owner of the franchise has shown interest in moving the team there in the spring/fall of just last year. But although many praise that idea, I am thinking that this might be a heavy-duty risk because of how Las Vegas is considered a city that would never own a team in a million years because of these following reasons. This includes gambling, and that is why there are bigger shoes to filled than presumed.

Some of my family and friends are excited for that move, especially when it was just announced when an expansion NHL team in the valley will start play at the T-Mobile Arena in the fall. This first step forward might sound fair mostly because of the likelihood of all of that coming together and they may very well be a huge turning point in getting more teams into my hometown of Las Vegas.

My guess for the weekly theory would need to be that the motives beyond the sports/media complex and that all decisions are made to make money and maximize profit for the future. Their promotion of all of this has proved to be very important in today's society because of how much teams need to evolve in order to make money, thanks to the guy said that sports are needed to make some money.

The commodification assumption stands strong among this once it becomes a popular thing in the future. For the main focus on this topic, it would need to be the corporate interest that is needed at the point where cultural groups are objects for consumption in the sports world.

And as another example of how this explanation plays out, author Jason Boyd's corresponding theories mean there is something that involves a stadium thing that happens to occur within the franchise that can be compared to all the other things in the past. This is what these possibilities can lead to a new identity in a brand-new stadium at Vegas.

I would like to apply this theory by adding the fact that people love to talk about how the sports businesses decide how they want to reinvent themselves as an organization, and that is a great thing to discuss for many years to come.

As a conclusion, both of these theories stand out the most when it comes to the Raiders' bold move to Sin City.
